up.
Had bed
tea.
Cursorily
scanned
The headlines.
Couple of
calls.
Snide remarks.
How
pleasant is the character
assassination
of others.
Collected couple
of
seedy and spicy
gossips for
the boss.
Wrapped smart
clothes
and generous
helping
of loud perfume.
Now ready to fight
one more battle.
Indifferently acknowledges
drivers greetings
and gets into the car.
The car reaches an office
which is close to a pigeonhole
with congested corridors
and stinking bathrooms.
Peon cursing his life and boss
springs into action
and with a flurry of bow and
opens the car door.
Takes sahibs fancy
brief – case and tiffin – box.
Salute of sloppy security gurads
and salutation of subordinates
who can be found either in bathroom
or corridor but not on their
table
blots the fox’s pigeons like chest.
Enters his chamber
seated behind a long table
with heaps of dirty and dusty
files
the fox dons the mask of lion.
Smile replaced by scowl.
Mask of Angel replaced by that of Devil.
